LayoutEditor
is the most popular software to edit designs for MEMS and IC fabrication. It is also often be used for Multi-Chip-Modules (MCM), Chip-on-Board (COB), Low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC), Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC), printed circuit boards (PCB), thick film technology, thin film technology, .... It has sophisticated functions like all angles, font generator, C++ macros, python scripting, boolean operations, design rule checker, netlist driven layout and LVS. A wide range of supported file formats like Calma GDSII, OASIS (Open Artwork System Interchange Standard), OpenAccess, DXF, CIF (Caltech Intermediate Form), Gerber (RS-274X), LEF, DEF, Lasi, SOURCE and many more make it to versatile tool in any part of your design flow. The LayoutEditor is cross platform compatible and runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X.
SchematicEditor
is integrated in the LayoutEditor for creation of electrical circuits and parametric layout. The SchematicEditor is designed for versatile use: almost every simulatior can be used, common file formats are supported and of course a very comfortable schematic driven layout: Place/choose a device in the schematic window and simple move the mouse to the layout window to get the corresponding device design. Select a node in one window and it is displayed in the other window. The layout/schematic integrations combines a complete freedom of a custom layout with a versatile assistance for all types of applications -- IC, MEMS, PCB, Microwave, ...
FreeRouting and other Tools
are integrated in the LayoutEditor and shiped in the LayoutEditor package, but can also be used separate from it. FreeRouting is a routing software intended but not limited for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).
By using the standard Specctra or Electra DSN interface it works together with numerous other CAD tools.
FastCap and
FastHenry are tools for electrical parameter extraction and are considered golden references in their field.
Next to these shiped tools the LayoutEditor can be used together with several other tools like ngspice, ltspice, qucs, hspice, gnuplot, excel, ...
